LHJ GAP 500 Club
Goal Assistance Programme (GAP)
The GAP 500 Club is a goal assistance programme, established to help persons who are faced with difficult socio-economic challenges which require urgent cash injection. It is designed to reduce the stress levels of low-income families by solving the problem of lack in different areas of their lives.
Sponsors of the GAP Fund contribute $500.00, or multiples of same, on a monthly basis to the club. From this pool recipients can apply for grants to support their social or economic needs. Contributors are also eligible to benefit from the fund.
Prospective recipients, club members or non-members, are required to make formal applications for funding by completing an application form. A committee of assessors will evaluate the completed forms to determine the level of need and the fund’s capacity to provide the assistance required. Sponsors may request that their contribution go towards providing for a specific need.
Special Project
Due to the ongoing requests for scholarships, a special programme was developed for students requesting grants to further their education. Together with their personal contributions, Grantees will, also, submit the names and contact information for at least twenty five (25) associates (individuals or organizations), who, through their (the students’) intervention, have committed to make contributions of $500.00 or more per month to the fund. Students may also refer others to the club and benefit from a small gratuity which will be added to their grants.
To qualify for a grant, individuals must:
- provide proof of need (verification letters from approved institution or individuals)
- Identification in the form of a driver’s license, passport or national identification
- TRN
- Two references
